This paper studied Truman State University’s students’ perception of marriage and romantic relationships in relation to their parents’ marital status. A survey was collected from 302 respondents; the study discovered two interesting items: 1) participants with married parents tend to be more satisfied with their parents’ marital status; and 2) participants with married parents tend to think that their perception on marriage is influenced by their parents’ marital status. Additionally, demographic relationship showed that Christian and middle or upper class students tend to have more married parents than participants from other demographics.
