Motion Graphics: The Spacio-temporal Magic Medium
Joe A. Moccia
Ms. Daryl Fazio, Faculty Mentor

The rise of modernity brought participating cultures into an age of ripped temporal thought. Speed and motion were embraced by the Italian Futurists while the sound barrier was still mystical. Metaphor or truth, science shapes the world we think we live in. Humans can now experience space and time as shaped by the new media designer. Changing the way we think about basic principles of the universe invites transcendence of an attachment to physical reality. Though the new media designer only creates an illusion, he/she may lead us to wonder if so called 'normal' perception is not also an illusion. Just as Michelangelo once saw forms in the marble and brought them to the fore, today's new media designer must see a character of motion and bring its experience into existence in the belly of a computer.
