Equity Analysis of Express Scripts Holding Company
Sam Lohmeyer*, Lasse Fuss, and David Shoko
Prof. Charles Boughton, Faculty Mentor

In coordination with the CFA Institute and CFA Institute Research Challenge, this research presentation outlines an equity valuation of Express Scripts Holding Company. The report comprised the competitive entry in the regional university competition by the Bulldog Student Investment Fund on behalf of Truman State University, including a detailed financial valuation and an overall buy/sell/hold recommendation. Analyses including environmental examinations like Porters Five Forces and industry competitive analysis complement technical valuation modeling of free cash flow. That research contributed to the overall investment recommendation and target pricing. After five months of research and reasoning, the team presented a Sell recommendation on Express Scripts stock with a target price of $83.61, versus a current market price upon presentation of $85.17 representing a downside risk of -1.83%. The entry won first place in the St. Louis competition and the team will travel to Atlanta in April to present their findings nationally.
