Crystallization and Analysis of Potassium Hydroxyacetone Sulfate
Kyle J. Angle* and Emily A. Damba
Dr. Amy Fuller, Faculty Mentor
Potassium hydroxyacetone sulfate was crystallized from amorphous powder using solvents with differing vapor pressures and polarity. The crystals obtained were examined for quality and then sent externally for data collection via x-ray diffraction. The returned data is computationally manipulated, using OLEX2, and the structure was solved. This process along with structural data from the crystal will be discussed.
