Stones of the Wall is a novel written by Dai Houying that retells the horrific story of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. This novel follows the lives of a group of people connected to one another through a character named Sun Yue, who was labeled a rebel during Mao Zedong's reign of terror. This paper will examine the mental traumas suffered by Chinese citizens caused by living in constant fear of being turned into the government as a rebel.
