Ethical Analysis of Roe vs. Wade
Shelby S. Leppin* and Sabrina Unseth
Dr. Stephen Hadwiger, Faculty Mentor

This interdisciplinary research was an ethical analysis of the landmark 1973 Supreme Court decision Roe vs. Wade. We conducted a textual analysis of the court opinions by Blackmun (Opinion of the Court) and Rehnquist (Dissent Opinion) and performed a comparative analysis of inferred values. Our study included the disciplines of nursing and ethics. Last, we implemented an inter-rater qualitative comparison to review the values we found at work in these texts of the court case.
