Water Masers Associated with Haro -10
Bradley M. Gerling
Dr. Mohammad Samiullah, Faculty Mentor

This report presents the first detection and proper motion study of the water masers associated with the Haro 6-10 binary star system. The outflow only from the southern component, which has a velocity of 20 km s-1, was observed, and is nearly in the plane of the sky. Furthermore, the spectra of both the infrared and visible Haro 6-10 objects were analyzed. The data suggests that both sources are very active. The presence of emission lines of hydrogen and H2 indicate that both sources are accreting and producing outflows. No strong evidence for a third component to the binary system was seen.
