Matthew B. DeFreese
Dr. Kathryn Brammall, Faculty Mentor
British domination over the Indian sub-continent persisted for several hundred years with economic imperialism exercised. As power transferred to the Indians, they were given a country depleted and exhausted from their previous rulers. Suffering economic, political, and social woes, the Indian people were left with little to build on. We are left with one question, how much of an effect did the British Raj have on the persisting troubles that exist in India during the last fifty years?
