Teaching Grammar: In Conjunction with Writing vs In Isolation

In this study I will be conducting grammar lessons to high school students in two different manners. The first type of lesson will be based on sentences that they have written in previous essays that have grammatical problems to work out. The second method will be based on the sentences and activities provided by a published grammar handbook. Through quizzes and assessments of essays, this study will hopefully reveal which type of grammar instruction the students respond more positively to and which will be more beneficial in the long term.
