A Multidimensional Look into the Treatment of Asthma
Sara E. Arnold
Dr. Diane Johnson, Faculty Mentor

Treating a medical illness can be complex and it is argued there is no universal fix for any one ailment. Western and alternative medical techniques provide two very different approaches to health, and for centuries the effectiveness of each form on certain illnesses has been debated among scholars. The purpose of this paper is to examine the effectiveness of both types of practices on the symptoms of asthma by exploring scientific literature as well as the case study of a female with asthma. The study concluded that when treating asthma, the most successful outcome may require a combination of both western and alternative medical practices.
