Heather Raffo's play, 9 Parts of Desire, explores the beauty of Iraqi women and their role in Iraqi culture. Conceived as a one-woman show, 9 Parts showcases the resilience, strength, vulnerability, fears, struggles, and triumphs of nine Iraqi women of different walks of life. In this presentation, authors will explore the table-work that went into developing each character while simultaneously maintaining the metaphor that each character represents a facet of one woman's psyche.
