Throughout history, people have been condemned and chastised for their morals and beliefs. In the case of French female author, Charlotte Delbo, her participation in the French Resistance during the Second World War resulted in five years in Nazi concentration camps and a lifetime of suffering. In order to confront the demons of her past, Delbo turned to writing. My research covers her life, her work in the Resistance, and her writing style as a coping mechanism. This paper includes excerpts and analyses of her works, including Auschwitz et Après, La Mémoire et les Jours, and Convoy to Auschwitz.
