High School Students' Technological Proficiency and Access
Sam R. Cummins♦
Dr. Wendy Miner, Faculty Mentor

Issues relating to students' technological proficiency and access to technology have become increasingly important. Technology is used in almost every aspect of daily life. In today's technologically-based economy, students need to have adequate skills and experience in using technology. My study focused on the technological proficiency and access to technology of students at a Midwestern high school. I administered a survey to students that asked them to self-report their proficiency at using and access to various technologies. Results of this survey and its implications for how the school can allocate technological resources and training to help meet district goals concerning the technological proficiency and access of students will be shared.
