A Survey of Speech Implementers in the State of Missouri
Ann M. Filla
Dr. Janet Gooch, Faculty Mentor

The purpose of this project is to study the personal experiences of individual speech implementers who are registered with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in the state of Missouri to discover how the speech implementer model is serving them. We will also evaluate the factors that might influence these experiences, such as education background and years of experience. Surveys will be provided by e-mail and/or by surface mail. Results will be recorded based on yes/no responses and themes identified throughout the surveys. The possible benefits of this study include contributing to what speech-language pathologists and school administrators know about the experiences of the speech implementers in the state of Missouri. Results may provide information to speech implementers and licensed speech-language pathologists on ways to improve or enhance the speech implementer model.
