A Critical Analysis Of Child Exploitation In America
Danielle E. Wall
Dr. Hena Ahmad, Faculty Mentor

There are an estimated 325,000 U.S. children age 17 or younger who are prostitutes or performers in pornographic videos or have otherwise fallen victim to "commercial sexual exploitation." Some children are trafficked from one state to another and others from other countries. Once on the streets, young children are lured by food, a safe place to rest, or attention into the hands of pimps. This research will critically examine the issue of child exploitation, the target group of youth that are forced into prostitution each year, and the realities and effects of child exploitation on the victims as well as what is currently being done to confront it.
