Kristyna M. Speraneo
Dr. Sam McClure, Faculty Mentor

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Sonata for Violin and Piano, KV454 is one of his later Viennese sonatas written in 1784, just seven years before his death. He wrote this piece for Italian violinist Regina Strinasacchi of Mantua. It premiered at the Karntnertor-Theater and was performed with no prior rehearsals and only the violin part written out. The sonata begins with a slow introduction followed by an allegro section with an exposition, short development that flows through different keys and rhythms, and the recapitulation.
