Fashion of the French Revolution

A look into the fashions in France leading up to, during, and after the French Revolution. This presentation explores how the extravagance of the Rococo period further exacerbated the growing wealth disparities in the country and how these dramatic styles eventually transformed into the laid back styles of the Directoire/Regency periods for highly politicized reasons.
On regarde la mode en France avant, pendant, et après la révolution française. Cette présentation examine l'extravagance de la période Rococo qui aggrave les disparités économiques en France et comment ces styles dramatiques finalement se transforment, pour des raisons politiques, en styles plus détenus de la période directoire et de la période de la régence anglaise.
