Synthesis of 1,1-methyl-sulfate-2-gamma-lactone-ol

Within the atmosphere there is a high presence of sulfate esters. The properties of these sulfate esters are not well known making their effect on the environment an important interest in research. 1,1-methyl-sulfate-2-gamma-lactone-ol is synthesized to help with the detection of its presence in the atmosphere as well as to gain more information on its properties.
