Development and Suitability Analysis of College Community Centric Service Offerings at Truman State University
College students need many services such as tutoring, photography, proofreading and more. We present the architecture and implementation of a college community-centric e-service platform, where students can buy and sell these services. We argue for an open, inclusive, and community-centric distributed platform which will empower students to provide their skills to the student community. We have created easy to navigate interfaces for the users so that they can publish, search, and select services in an intuitive web environment. Furthermore, the users rank sellers based on the quality of successfully completed transactions so that other users can select services that best suit their needs.
This college centric model of freelancing offers substantial advantages compared to other e-business sites. The advantages include decreased competition, face-to-face communication, and cost-effective prices. An implementation and preliminary study of the proposed system is discussed along with the architecture and design of our e-services and workflow concepts.
