Student On-Campus Employment Incubator Approach to Inter Professional Development
Jacey J. Wood♦
Dr. Candy Young, Faculty Mentor

Due to the rising cost of higher education, four out of five students secure employment while attending college (Langfield, 2013). Many of these college students work on-campus. According to CEO Project creator, Adam Peck, on-campus student employment ranks lower than off-campus employment, co-curricular experiences, internships, and classes in performance on NACE top employer attributes. It is time for higher education to take a lesson from practices of some of the best companies in the world and incorporate significant best professional development into on-campus student employment training. Including training modules on customer service and anticipating needs will give higher education a better opportunity to enhance student's transferable and critical thinking skills, which are invaluable to employment in higher education and business.
