Despite normal intelligence, many individuals today are living with the struggles of dyslexia. Spelling, reading aloud and general pronunciations are some the challenges faced. Dyslexics like myself, wrestle to prove to society that our condition is not made up, a sign of a low IQ or laziness. However, it stems from a structural difference in the west hemisphere of the brain resulting in learning difficulty not disability. This paper will explore the symptoms and myths of dyslexia and how society's view of dyslexia impact dyslexics.
