It may be easy to take for granted a simple tool we use every day of our lives: our voice. A group of Communication Disorders seniors are determined to educate the Truman community of the importance of caring for the voice by presenting evidence-based practices. Professors and students alike rely on their voices to educate, express ideas, and gain an understanding of one another. There are several strategies that can be used to ensure proper vocal health. Knowledge and proper care for the vocal structures ensure the quality and durability of the voice. Vocal function exercises, healthy speaking habits, and common myths about the voice will be discussed in this poster presentation.
