"A Meaningful Life and Death": A Phenomenological Look at Richard Bach's Jonathan Livingston Seagull
Alexander Hoadley
Dr. Hena Ahmad, Faculty Mentor
In Richard Bach's work, you follow Jonathan, a seagull, who lives his life as a loner. He spends time away from the flock to learn more about flying, and through that he learns more about life itself than the rest of the flock. Due to his long hours spent on perfecting flight, by the time he passes, he ascends to the next life and learns that there are more than two forms of existence. So, can humans take out how to live their lives from a story about seagulls.
