This research focuses primarily on viticulture in France. The research was done by examining recent publications, such as the rules for production, the benefits to growing and producing wine organically, the statistics concerning the growth of organic wine growing and production and the publics opinion of organic wine. France is second to Spain in the number of organic vineyards in Europe, and third behind Spain and Italy in the total number of organic farms. One out of three French citizens said they drink organic wine regularly or occasionally. This research shows that organic wine is a sector of organic agriculture that is growing quickly and that organic wine is better for the environment as well as for the health of humans
