Sickle Cell Anemia from Genetic Mutation The genetic code defines human differences by the information embedded in individual genes. As genes are passed from parent to child, one or two defective genes can be transferred to an offspring causing a disease. Evolution causes genes become mutated which can lead to certain communities being prone to particular diseases. Investigating the ways in which genes are expressed, the paper will focus on how sickle cell anemia is more prevalent among people of African American origin.
