The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of visualization within hypnosis on athletic performance. Visualization has proven to be a useful tool in enhancing athletic performance. In the same way, hypnosis has been to shown to be an effective tool in increasing performance in strength tests. However, the effects of hypnosis on athletic performance have not been heavily researched. To determine the effects of hypnosis, performance of student athletes on the Presidents Fitness Test was measured before and after a hypnosis and visualization session. This study hypothesized that athletic performance would be improved with hypnosis.
