Angel Island and Its Physiological Repercussions

The presentation that I am proposing for the Truman Student Research Conference is on the topic of Angel Island and its physiological repercussions it had on incoming Asian immigrants. Angel Island was an immigration processing center in the San Francisco Bay as a for incoming Asian immigrants. It is a very important part of Asian American studies because it is the spots where many Asian American lineages can be traced to their ancestors that made the journey across the Pacific. Angel Island was know for its harsh living conditions and tedious integrations that thousands of Asian immigrants where put through. These trials left an impression on the minds of the immigrants that would only transfer once they finally stepped foot on American soil. These impressions would not only aid in many Asians troubles in mixing with American society but would leave psychological consequences.
