The purpose of this research was to identify whether curriculum for future nurses and speech-language pathologists is sufficiently covering the multidisciplinary knowledge needed when working in a nursing home setting and with that specific population. To conduct our research we distributed surveys to Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Speech-Language Pathologist who have, or are currently, working in the nursing home setting. The surveys addressed such questions as: staff to patient ratios, communication abilities as an interdisciplinary team member and preparedness for the nursing home setting.
