Purpose: This research study aimed to discover the overall attitudes college students possess about caffeine consumption. The research study also examined the variations in attitude scores among age, gender, and number of credit hours taken. Methodology: Researchers administered a 17 item likert scale survey containing questions about caffeine consumption, attitudes toward caffeine, and five demographic questions. The participants included 47 undergraduate students at a small Midwestern liberal arts university ranging in age from 18-21. Results: There were no significant differences in attitude scores found among the demographic variables. The overall attitude score indicated a neutral attitude towards caffeine consumption. Conclusions: The study failed to show a relationship between demographic variables and overall attitudes towards caffeine. Further studies of college students need to be completed.
