Romani Roots: A Cultural Exploration of the Life, Music, and Religion of the "Gypsy" Culture

People of the Romani culture are widely misrepresented and misunderstood by the world at large. Glamorized for their sorcery and musical ability, the Gypsies remain a culture shrouded in secrecy, as they attempt to keep their own traditions alive while facing persecution from the outside world. Caught within a struggle for their own identity, the Gypsies have developed unique adaptive strategies for survival that house the melded components of their lives. A study of their origins, societies, and lifestyles displays these adaptations, as well as the syncretic religious societies in which they exist. While still facing social resistance today, the Gypsies are a people of great resilience who maintain their identity while leaving imprints on the world at large.
