The Weaponized Electromagnetic Pulse

The Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) is a powerful effect that can be used in a number of ways to disable technology. An Electromagnetic Pulse refers to the expulsion of electromagnetic radiation due to either an explosion or large fluctuation in a magnetic field; this radiation results in an extreme voltage or current flux capable of damaging circuitry. There are two types of these weapons, nuclear and non-nuclear EMPs. Both of these are designed in different ways, the first for affecting the largest area and the second for precision. In a day and age where many civilizations throughout the country rely heavily on technology to support all facets of life, this type of a weapon has great implications. The development, design, and experimental use of these weapons will be discussed.
