Male Preferences of the Female Body Type

This study examined how specific breast and buttocks sizes impact attractiveness, as well as the accuracy of females perceptions regarding mens preferences of the female body. Both of these topics were unaddressed in previous research. The experiment used a within-subject 3 (breast) X 3 (buttocks) factorial design. All females were instructed to respond how they believed men would respond to a given item, while males were asked to respond with their own personal preferences. Participants viewed these photographs in random orders rating them on a seven-item scale of attractiveness. Participants were asked which was more influential in their ratings of attractiveness, breasts or buttocks, and to select the weight preference of a female (very thin through obese). The data is currently being analyzed, using general linear models and with non-parametric statistics. While the analyses are being finalized, the results will hold substantial practical applications, regardless of the findings themselves.
