The Accuracy of Quantitative Methods to Identify Bats from Vocalizations Alone

Three years of research have resulted in statistical, quantitative models that may be able to identify a species of bat from echolocation recordings alone. A question that remains is the accuracy and usability of such models in a field setting. Recent research has used statistical validation methods to answer this question and to suggest possible uses of such models for aiding conservation methods of endangered species.
