This study analyzes the relationships between abortion funding restrictions and state birth rates, abortion rates, and the feminization of poverty. Several hypotheses were tested and one hypothesis was supported by the data: states with abortion funding restrictions will have a higher rate of the feminization of poverty than states without abortion funding restrictions. The hypothesis that states with abortion funding restrictions will have a greater increase in birth rates than states without abortion funding restrictions was not supported; the data indicate the opposite of the hypothesis, states with funding restrictions had lower birth rates than states without funding restrictions. The hypothesis that states with abortion funding restrictions will have a greater decrease in abortion rates than states without abortion funding restrictions was also not supported with available statistical analysis methods; however, patterns in visual representations may support the hypothesis.
