Strengthening the Public Sector Through Work Engagement

Victoria Y. Taylor
Dr. David Gillette, Faculty Mentor

Within every organization, managers strive to obtain the most productivity out of their employees with the least amount of money or materials necessary. This is significantly more difficult to achieve when an organization has more than a few unengaged employees. This research explores the reward of working to engage an organization’s employees because of the additional productivity that results from these strategies when put in place. Additionally, the research focuses on public organizations and institutions, both due to the lack of research in public work engagement and to also emphasize the importance of civil servant engagement. The presentation will report experimental findings in an effort to decipher how effective leadership, meaningfulness in the workplace, and a strong bond between the employees and the organization raises overall engagement within the organization’s staff.
