George Whitfield: The Man Behind Americas Soul
George Whitfield the 18th century Evangelist Preacher can be seen as one of the most influential figures in modern history. A man who successfully founded Bethesda, the first Orphanage in the history of Georgia. But the real story behind George Whitfield is not only his accomplishments but the inner drive that pushed him to break the boundaries of his practice.. The same drive helped him justify his more controversial actions and beliefs revolving around slavery. One that can be seen and brought to light by examining various central aspects of his life from his work to his relationships with others. Revealing that God was the backbone of his life and his actions being a catalyst for his life-spanning career of preaching, charitable work, and outreach. But it also took him down darker paths that reveal a hidden depth to his character, that accepted that although he was a man of God, in life he would always be one tainted by sin.
