The Effects of Scholarship Jobs On Student Lives

Most college students utilize some sort of financial aid during their time at school. However, many students do not realize that their school has certain requirements that need to be met in order to retain the scholarships that were given by the university. The strict scholarship renewal guidelines affected my ability to renew my scholarships. I took an interest in this subject because I knew of several other students who had been in my position. A lot of research has been done on how financial aid affects students but there hasn’t been research done about specific scholarship requirements. I conducted interviews to answer this research question: How do strict scholarship renewal guidelines affect students, including their school work, extracurriculars, and social lives? When creating my interview questions, I focused them around five main themes. These themes included scholarship jobs, financial situations, academics, mental health, and student’s schedules.
