The Beginning of Oklahoma: Settling the Oklahoma Territory

This presentation uses the study of family history and genealogy to showcase the events of the Boomer Movement and the founding of the Oklahoma Territory. In 1887, Oklahoma Bugher was the first white woman born in the territory; Bugher's family is a prime example of the Boomer movement. With research regarding the Boomers' trials and relations with Native Americans, and the U.S. government, this presentation will highlight the early years of the Oklahoma Territory.
