Graphics in Gaming

Angelique K. Collinge

Do graphics affect whether or not a player is more or less immersed? Immersion is when one is mentally preoccupied with an activity, such as playing a game. This study used two different categories, realistic and nonrealistic games, to determine if immersion happened more often with one than the other. The conclusion is that both types of games can be immersive but on different levels and most who took time to play a game did not realize how long they were staring at a screen.
