DSLR Photometry and Light Pollution
In this research presentation, we cover the tools and methods used to perform Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) photometry. The goal of our research is to better understand the properties of the DSLR camera in order to perform photometry on multiple celestial objects. In particular, we collect data on standard and variable stars, and generate the corresponding light curves in each of the RGB color channels. In addition, we quantify the quality of the night sky by comparing light curves from locations with varying levels of sky brightness.
