Environmental Migration

Migration is a natural human phenomenon, yet it remains a source of great controversy. While most migrants may have purely economic motivations, many are refugees fleeing conflict or political instability. Refugees also flee environmental crises such as earthquakes, droughts or rising water levels. As more people are displaced each year, the international community has not come closer to a solution. This presentation will incorporate environmental factors into economic models of migration and examine several case studies.
