Reading: Standardized Tests and Classroom Data Alignment

This research addresses the question, How do standardized tests in reading align with classroom anecdotal data? The participants were six third-grade students. Each student took two standardized reading tests: the Scholastic Reading Inventory and the Independent Reading Assessment. Following each standardized test, the students completed a climate survey. In class, I observed reading log habits and collected engagement data. Each student participated in one-on-one reading conferences. Data has yet to be analyzed for this research. The researcher hopes to gain information regarding how a teacher can use standardized test data paired with classroom data to learn about students as readers.
