This study examined the efficacy of hypnosis and binaural beats, both in comparison to each other and when combined, on a word recall task. We hypothesized that either or both methods of relaxation will aid memory the most in a word recall task. Furthermore, we hypothesized that those in the control group would have sufficiently lower word recall abilities for this task. The task was administered to 173 undergraduate students at Truman State University. Statistical analyses are currently being generated. Potential results of this study may be used to integrate systems of binaural beats and/or hypnosis in undergraduate classes to aid in recall, as memory recall is an important ability for college students to obtain on the basis of memorization.
