The Effect of Student Choice in Reading Logs on Students' Accuracy
Lena G. Benoit♦
Dr. Wendy Miner, Faculty Mentor
The purpose of this action research was to examine the effect of student choice with reading logs on students' accuracy. Students were given the chance to select and change reading logs throughout the semester. Data collected included students reading logs, a questionnaire, and individual student interviews. Initial choice does not seem to have had a strong effect on students reported accuracy of their reading; however, changing reading logs did seem to affect how often students turned their logs in, and how well they completed their logs.
