The Uniqueness of Father-Infant Triadic Interactions: Contributions from Parent and Infant Characteristics
Meredith J. Spiers
Dr. Sherri A. Palmer, Faculty Mentor
This study explores factors involved in changes in father-infant interactions across dyadic to triadic family interactions. Results indicated that decreases in father-infant interaction quality were predicted by fathers' noninvolvement and infants' temperamental difficulty. Findings suggest that triadic interactions provide a unique context for observing the quality of the father-infant relationship.
