Dear Me! You Are Dead Wrong: Puritan and "The Other's" Clashing Views And Religious Acceptance
Tracy E. Lang
Dr. Kathryn Brammall, Faculty Mentor
For centuries in Europe the debate over correct Christian theology has brought debate, derision, and death. The early New England Pilgrims hoped to be immune from conflict as they sought to, through example, purify the Church of England. This, however, did not happen as the Pilgrims soon found themselves face-to-face with others (for example the Quakers) who sought to correct their theology. This paper will be a comparative examination of religious acceptance in early New England.
