The purpose of this study was to determine if implementing the Personalized System of Instruction (PSI) improves students attitudes in physical education. The research was conducted in a high school elective fitness course. Throughout a 6-week unit, twelve students completed personalized workouts. During this time they completed journal prompts each day following their workout, which required the students to reflect on their perceived ability to complete the assigned workout. Before and after the six-week unit, the researcher gave students a fitness reflection in order to gauge each students approach toward physical education and fitness. By pretesting and post-testing the researcher would be able to qualitatively state the changes occurring within the affective realm of physical education. Seeing as the affective domain represents students attitudes, emotions, and feelings, the overall goal of this specific study was to see how personalizing instruction for each student affected the students approach to physical education.
