Megan E. Petry* and Alafiya S. Nasrulla
Dr. Paula Cochran and Dr. Janet Gooch, Faculty Mentors
The purpose of this study was to examine the attitudes of international college students toward computer-assisted accent reduction therapy. An attitude survey was developed based on a previously existing instrument, to specifically assess attitudes toward computer-assisted accent reduction therapy. Participants were surveyed, then briefly instructed in the use of a currently available software product for articulation therapy, Articulation 1 from LocoTour. After a brief period of independent use, participants were surveyed again to see if their attitudes had been impacted. The software exploration behaviors of participants were coded for type and frequency. Results will be presented and implications will be discussed.
