The Individual and the Family: The Value of Mormon Community as Expressed in Song

The tenet of family significance within the Mormon faith is a pervasive topic among researchers of the Church. While it has been agreed that the Mormon individual serves as a valued contributor to the more important Mormon family, this qualifying statement has more power if quantified. Understanding the precise meaning of a "necessity" for a religion is a debatable science, and one that seems to have infinite potential in and outside of the Mormon Church. Surprisingly enough, approaching a Mormon hymn in a unique way, involving an applicable methodology from the contemporary literary community does exactly this.
