This project constituted the study of different cosmological models, within the context of the Robertson Walker cosmology, and the data from distant supernovae. Friedmann's equations were modified to a more general form and the resulting analysis was tested, using the data for apparent magnitudes of supernovae. Fits to the data were obtained using the new equations and a chi-square analysis was used to test the validity of the fits, as compared to the available analysis with the cosmological constant term. It was concluded that the best fit to the data was given by the cosmological constant.
